Revanea

Ingredients:

1  Dozen Eggs

1  Cup of Water

2  Cups Swans Down Cake Flour

1.   tbsp. baking powder

1 tsp. vanilla

Juice one lemon

 Syrup:

2 cups white sugar

4 cups of water

Peel of one orange

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Sift flour and baking powder into small bowl.  Break eggs into large mixing bowl; beat at high speed slowly adding sugar and vanilla; continue to beat for about 15 minutes.  Then fold in flour mixture by hand sifting as you fold.  Fold in lemon juice, then pour into greased pan about 11” x 16” and bake for 45 minutes.  To make syrup, boil sugar and water and peel for 20 minutes.  Cool and when cake is cool pour syrup over and cut into pieces.

If desired, two cups of crushed walnuts may be added to batter after lemon juice.
