Bulgarian Giuvech


2     tbsp.. shortening

1     lb. beef

2     large onions, finely chopped

1    stalk celery, chopped

1     can green beans

1     green mango. chopped

1     tsp. paprika

2     medium potatoes, sliced

½    can tomatoes

salt and pepper to taste

Brown the onions, celery and mango in shortening.  Add paprika.  Set aside.  In a separate pot, add beef, cover with water and cook for one hour, until beef is tender.  In a roaster, put onion mixture  Add beef, potatoes, green beans, salt, and pepper.  Pour tomatoes over all.  Bake in oven at 300 degrees until potatoes are done, about one hour.
